Sore Throat Relief:
You can get relief from a sore throat by gargling with a mixture of sage, apple cider vinegar, and salt. The salt draws excess fluid out of the tissues in your throat that cause swelling.
The apple cider vinegar works to get rid of the bug itself and relieve the discomfort that comes with a sore throat. I prefer to use organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar for this recipe and others that call for it.
Sage is a great herb to use when it comes to colds because it’s an astringent. It’s a natural way to assist your body in getting rid of excess fluid.
Sage works as an anti-bacterial agent helping to clear the infected area. The amount of sage used for this gargle is strong. It doesn’t really taste good, but it can do the job.
You will need:
1 cup apple cider vinegar
4 tbsp. dried sage/fresh 8tbs
1 cup water
An airtight 2oz glass jar with a lid that fits
Put the sage leaves at the bottom of a mug and cover with 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 15 minutes covered. While the sage is steeping pour 1 cup of apple cider vinegar into the jar and add salt.
Once it’s infused strain the sage tea and add into the apple cider vinegar. Gargle a mouthful at least 3 times a day for pain relief. You can store it in the fridge for 1 week.
